It all started with Belle...

Due to our love of animals of all kinds, we have wanted to own a ranch where animals were the stars. It just seemed life was always getting in the way. Then, in 2016, we went to a friend’s farm to see his newborn Nubian kids. We fell in love with Belle immediately. Needless to say, we went home and started fencing our property and building a barn. Belle as well as Jessie and Annie came home with us as soon as they were weaned. We have not looked back.

We have grown quite a lot in a few short years and have learned a great deal. Our mentors have meant so much to us and to our goats. Their health and happiness as well as our sanity (sometimes) has been greatly enhanced through their kindness and willingness to share their knowledge. When you purchase one of our kids, we will certainly be there for you and try to guide you through the maze of information on goat health.

A healthy herd is a happy herd. We free feed top quality alfalfa to all our goats. We also provide loose minerals and 16% goat pellets. We vaccinate against Clostridium Parfringens type C & D and tetanus. Being in the desert Southwest, we do not need to deworm on a schedule. We do however collect random fecals to test for worms. So far, we have never had to deworm our goats. Our herd has been tested for G6S and is normal. We have completed DNA testing on our bucks and all bucklings will be DNA typed and parentage verified prior to leaving our ranch. Our kids are dam raised if the dam is attentive. If not, the kids are pulled and bottle fed. All kids are handled daily to help ensure that when they leave, they are easily handled and super friendly. The kids are given medicated pellets as soon as they show interest in nibbling on them. We monitor their health very closely to catch any signs of illness so that we can respond rapidly and accordingly. We test for CAE, CL, and Johnes annually. We are free from all.

We participate in DHIR testing and Linear Appraisal. The knowledge we gain from these two programs has been invaluable help at determining breeding plans. Moving forward we hope to participate in shows to add another dimension to our herd.

We are glad you have stopped on our ranch page. Please take a look at our amazing Nubians and let us know if you have any questions. We are always happy to talk goats!
